Bali, Indonesia is the place I decided to spend my 40th Birthday. This was my first birthday that I spent abroad and I planned on having a nice peaceful vacation.
They say if you want to make God laugh tell him your plans. Well God got a good kick out of this one because HE gave me the BEST 40th Birthday trip ever and it looked nothing like I planned!
I didn’t do much research on Bali. I assumed that all of Bali was the nice quiet serene green places I see on all the travel blogs, NOT SO! I booked my stay at the Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort. The resort itself did not disappoint. The location was great! It was on the main strip and attached to the Beachwalk shopping center so everything was convenient. The staff was AMAZING! They SPOILED me for my birthday.
There was no rice field swing photos and yoga on this trip. Kuta is a very busy touristy beach town. There was a lot of traffic and people, not exactly what I had in mind. Next time I do Bali I will be sure to venture out to Ubud, Seminyak and Nusa Dua so I can experience the peaceful side of Bali.
