SPAIN (BARCELONA)

Updated: Aug 16, 2023

I couldn’t in good faith visit Spain without going to Barcelona. I went as another one of my quick excursions. I took the Renfe express train and arrived in Barcelona in three hours. The train experience was nice because it allowed me to see other areas along the way. The train was very clean and comfortable.

The moment I stepped off the train I knew I was going to like Barcelona. It was something about the energy there. I stayed at the AC Hotel Diagonal L'Ila. The hotel was located inside a mall so I had anything I may need at my doorstep. There were tons of restaurants in walking distance and it was a short Uber ride to central Barcelona.

I chose to do a day tour with Barcelona Guide Bureau since I really only had one full day to see the sites. This was an awesome tour that took me to Sagrada Família, Waterfront of Barcelona – Old Port and Columbus Monument, Montjuïc Hill – Mayor’s Lookout and Poble Espanyol – The Spanish Village.

Mrs. Elain was my buddy on the tour and I can only hope I'm still rolling like her when I get in my 70’s. She has been a widow for 17 years & she told her son she wanted to go to Spain so he & his wife brought her. Her son kept thinking she was going to have to sit out some of the walking today but she did it all. One full day in Barcelona was definitely NOT enough. I saw so much on the day tour bus that I would love to explore on foot & get more pictures. Until next time Barcelona.
