Durban, South Africa is near and dear to my heart. This is my second visit to the city. I rationalized a second visit by telling myself I was coming back to the second Essence Festival to network. I was exhausted my first visit because I was working a lot of hours and jet lag got the best of me. I didn’t get to nurture the relationships of the cool people I met because I was falling asleep and missing calls to connect.
This visit I was rested and refreshed. On day one I had an Uber driver that I really connected with. I mentioned to him that it was my second visit and that Durban was a place I would consider relocating to. He became a great friend (brother) and introduced me to a lady that mentors him and they really looked out for me during my visit. I was able to spend more time in Umhlanga this time around and my love for the area grew even more. If I could find a way to live and work in Umhlanga I would be one happy girl.
