Cape Town, South Africa is definitely a place of the haves and the have nots. On one hand you have the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with views of Table Mountain and on the other end of the spectrum you have the townships which were residential developments that confined non-whites (Blacks, Coloureds, and Indians) during apartheid. I experienced so many emotions during my visit to Cape Town because of the history. It is a very disturbing history for blacks.
The Hop On Hop Off bus in Cape Town is great. You can basically use it as a means of transportation and if you are going to be there 3 days I definitely suggest the 3 day pass so you can take your time and explore each stop. Table Mountain, Cape Point, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and District Six Museum are just a few sites to see.
I allowed my emotions to rush me out of Cape Town because I had real heavy feelings learning all the history. Cape Town will definitely see me again because it was cold and I didn’t explore like I wanted to so there is still a lot that I want to see.
