That is a quote from my favorite DMX song Here We Go Again! This song is the epitome of why you should separate the person from the lyrics in “gansta rap”. Despite the fact that this song is him telling a story about killing a dude that crossed him, I could feel his spirit and hear in his voice that he was a good dude that wished he didn’t have to take it there.
I captioned this “My Alter Ego” because there are many situations in life that I would like to respond as DMX, but I have to package it as “Latiesha the Christian” or “Latiesha the professional” to keep from being labeled crazy. That being said, I still often get labeled as crazy because I have no patience for foolishness!
