Review: Holiday Inn Resort Aruba – OVER PRICED –DISAPPOINTING ROOM

I had to book an additional night in Aruba and I switched from my original hotel to Holiday Inn because I needed a strong wifi signal to get some work done and Holiday Inn usually doesn’t disappoint. Well the wifi at this resort is practically non-existent. I couldn’t get anything to load. At least at the previous resort things loaded they were just a little slow. Not to mention this resort was $100 more a night (with my travel agent discount), but I was willing to pay that to get some work done.

I paid the additional money per night for nothing. The first time I called the front desk I was told they would have their tech guys look into it. When I never got a call back I went to the front desk and was basically told yeah the wifi is not good. I decided to work on some files that didn’t need internet but unfortunately there was a wedding reception and there was music blaring from 7-10pm, so the whole work thing just wasn’t happening.

I had a partial ocean view with the view of the roof of the building, I tried not to be so aggravated about that since I booked on the travel agent rate. The room was dated and had a stale smell to it. The positive part of this stay was that Lucian was very welcoming upon my arrival and my departure. The bed was comfortable. The location was great for walking to the restaurants in the high rise hotel area without paying a fortune for taxis. The resort grounds are very nice.
