Review: Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam Arena Tower – GREAT BREAKFAST VARIETY

I arrived late night so I appreciated the check-in being smooth. However when I got to my room one of the beds had a duvet cover that had stains all over it. I didn’t want to drag my bags downstairs so I just went and asked for clean covers. The front desk promptly gave me a fresh duvet cover and apologized for the issues. The next morning I asked to speak to a manager and Juliet came to my room. I showed her the cover because I though management should be aware. She was very compassionate and attentive when listening to my concern. I saw her later in the day and she assured me that the housekeeping supervisor had been made aware of the situation.

The location of the hotel was great because it is a short walk from the Arena station. There are a variety of dining options around the arena complex and there is also a supermarket on the opposite end of the arena complex. It was only about a 15 to 20 minute train ride to central Amsterdam from the Arena station. My only complaint would be the rooms not having a refrigerator. They did however have a self-service ice machine and microwave in the self-service market.

The breakfast variety was a nice mix of warm foods, cold cuts, cheeses and pastries. All of the staff that I encountered in the hallways or elevators was really pleasant and Maryam was a complete joy to chat with during my checkout. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Amsterdam.
