Review: Royal Crown Hotel & Spa - Siem Reap - I DIDN'T LIKE THE GECKOS IN THE ROOM

I try to make most things positive but I’m going to start with the negative on this one and close with the positive. My first issue was the small geckos in the room. I had an encounter with them in my room on 6 different occasions for a 4 night stay. That is way too often for a hotel in my opinion. Second the flip flops in my room were DIRTY. You can’t give people white flip flops if they are not going to be replaced after each guest leave. Third housekeeping left some things to be desired. The ice tray in my refrigerator was dirty. The curtains and lamp shades were dirty.

Now the positive. The staff was EXTREMELY nice and attentive. They addressed me by name every time I entered the lobby coming and going. I got a little aggravated with the wifi they were patient and took me to other rooms to see if the signal was better and was going to help me move my things but I told them I didn’t want to do that. Within a couple of hours the wifi strength in my room was resolved. Location was great. It was two doors down from Hard Rock Café which seemed to be the only western food in the area. There were a few little local restaurants that turned out not to be too bad also (Grey & Dakota Steakhouse). It was about a five minute walk to the outside market and pub street (if you want to party) and only a fifteen minute tuk tuk ride from the airport.
